Don’t you just love this time of year? The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, theres an inch thick layer of pollen on everything….ahhh, spring has sprung around here.

I usually spruce up around the outside of the house each spring and plant gobs of flowers on my front “porch” and the back patio. The flowers and greenery are enormous by the time summer rolls around. That is definitely one of my fav-o-rite thinnnngs (yes, I was channelling Julie Andrews).

Yesterday was planting day here at the manor. I didn’t go full tilt this year.  It was more like half tilt. The front porch got a little chair that was rescued out of the trash and a sweet little welcome sign. The magnolia wreaths on the front door were made from garlands at a craft store (tutorial here) and are still hanging in there.

If you follow me on Instagram you know that we had our house painted a couple of weeks ago. You can see a little bit of the color here.  It’s a cool gray.  It’s the only gray our HOA has approved <heavy sigh>.

But it looks fresh and clean now and we are enjoying the change from the peachy-beige that it was for 10 years.

The welcome sign is just a little chalkboard sign from Target’s dollar spot.  I stock up on those things when they are available. Actually, hoarding might be a better way to describe it. 😉

The back patio got a little sprucing as well.  Just a few pops of color here and there. I’ll be working on a big project out here in the next month or so.  Can’t wait to show you!

I just love this little artichoke planter. It gets a little something every spring.  I had an asparagus fern in it one year and it just about drove Mr. Creativity mad with all of the needles shedding. So this year it’s getting fun little flowers.

Spring has arrived in a big way around here.  We are still enjoying not having to run our AC 24/7 and being able to leave the patio doors open. Yesterday we even got a little spring shower.

What’s your favorite thing about spring?? I’m guessing it’s not the pollen count…

Love the artichoke planter and the little chair! Yes, I completely understand about hoarding the chalkboards. Ha! You’ve inspired me to get some planting done around here.

Yesterday was the perfect day for planting. Not too hot, not too chilly and there was a light rain. Thankfully I already had my flowers at the house and ready to go! (That never happens…)
