Hello dear friends. Remember me? My name is Holly. Holly McCall. And I haven’t spoken with you since LAST YEAR!
That joke would really be funny if I had posted in the last 8 months. We would both be sitting back and chuckling over the last post which would have been only 24 short hours ago thinking to ourselves “That Holly, she makes the funniest jokes about the new year”. But sadly, it has been a long while since I have reached out to you. It has nothing to do with you. It’s totally me. And not in that “college boyfriend who really just wanted to date your roommate” kind of way. It really is about me.
2017 was great/busy year for me! God blessed me with a new job, good health, no lice (it’s a long, itchy story) and a happy family. We are counting ourselves loved this year
My new job is better than I deserve and has taken my time in a different direction lately. I’m getting settled into it and hoping to get my blogging back up and running very soon (along with a new and improved look that is in the works).
But today I wanted to share just a little something with you. You know that feeling on January 1 of a new year? That feeling that anything is possible? When losing 10 lbs seems like a piece of cauliflower (see what I did there?) or when you really feel like this is your year to ______________(you fill in that blank with whatever you’ve been wanting to do). But you and I both know that after one week, that feeling is gone and we are back to eating cake and watching Netflix.
Well not today. Today we will be making God Lists in our family. What are God Lists? Well, I’m glad you asked! Instead of making a list of resolutions that we will forget by January 7th, we make a list of God-sized items that we boldly ask Him to do this year. We began doing this with our sweet friends from Kentucky a while back and it is fun to go back over the lists from the past and see what God accomplished. He never ceases to amaze us.
So go ahead and start asking boldly for God to accomplish things in your life that seem quite impossible. Then when he answers those prayers, be sure to thank Him and give Him the glory. Remember, sometimes He answers with a No. Thank Him for His wisdom in those times. Thank Him for keeping you from something that isn’t in line with His will.
May your new year be the best one yet. No resolutions needed!
