Our patio is one of our favorite places to spend time in the cooler months of the year here in Florida. In the summer we spend time out there only when the sun is down or we are dripping wet from the pool.
It’s screened in so the mosquitoes don’t fly away with us and we added the brick a few years ago to give it some interest. Recently though I’ve been wanting to do a few refreshers on it. So I started with the door to the pool bath.
It was originally painted to match the house, but after I painted the front doors It seemed to be calling for the same treatment. Thankfully I had plenty of paint left over.
This front door paint from Modern Masters has won my heart. It goes on smoothly and evens out so the there are virtually no brush strokes. And it claims it never fades, but I’ll be the judge of that over the next couple of years…
After it was painted and looking lovely, I decided it needed a wreath to give it a little burst of green. I adore boxwood wreaths, but knew one wouldn’t hold up outside in the elements. JoAnn’s doesn’t carry a faux boxwood wreath, but does carry faux boxwood monogram wreaths. So I grabbed an ‘O’.
But I wasn’t crazy about the oval shape.
Well, I don’t want to brag or anything but I have been to the gym 5 times in the last month. I did a pretty thorough arm workout using a set of 8lb weights, so yeah. I decided to put these guns to use and pull the ‘O’ into a circle shape instead of the oval.
Because ovals just don’t cut it.
This little makeover took less than one afternoon, but it did take a lot of upper body strength. Good luck if you attempt it. Might want to eat some protein to prepare yourself.
What do you think of my little project? I would love to hear from you!
