I just had to share with you an experience that I was able to be a part of recently. My sister-in-law, Amy Sewell, is a TV spokesperson and one of the companies she represents is Brylane Home. She was working on a Christmas segment here in Florida and she asked me to design some tables and the TV studio decor with some of their products. She gave me the ‘job’ of looking through the Brylane website and choosing products that she could show and talk about. Done. I can always shop. No problem there.
Well, Brylane Home has beautiful products. I enjoyed dreaming up ways to use their holiday items for dining and buffet tables along with trees and wreaths for the home.
So after falling in love with anything and everything that I could possibly ever use on a set, I sent in my requests. Then I couldn’t get the song ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ out of my head –Bing Crosby’s voice is like buttah (can I get an Amen?!). Then, one glorious day, the packages arrived. I think the angel on top of my Grandmother’s tree actually sang. We had boxes upon boxes upon boxes in our garage. They packed everything so well, especially all of the breakables. My kids had a great time playing with all of the empty boxes. We had forts and airplanes and houses scattered all over the front yard (I know what I could get them for Christmas now…) Even the neighborhood kids got involved in the fun! I meant to take a picture of them playing so creatively, but instead took the time to unpack everything while the kids were occupied (moms everywhere are nodding in agreement with my thought process…)
To say that Christmas showed up in a big way at our house that day is an understatement. Just look at my dining room table!
After playing around with table displays and arrangements…
I took it all apart, carefully wrapped things back in their bubble wrap and loaded up Roberta (the name of our SUV). Then I headed to Tampa for the taping.
Here is a shot while I am prepping the tables. These will be carried up on the stage with the products set up and ready to go! I held my breath as they carried everything. Being a mom to little ones, every cord on the floor and step up looks almost impossible to navigate. But they managed it effortlessly.
Whew! That was fun! Stay tuned to see what my absolute favorites were from all of these items! You’ll be amazed at one item in particular that they have. It was the most jaw-dropping item on the set. The cast and crew had to come and look it over for themselves. Have I peaked your interest??? Well GOOD!
Thank you Amy and Brylane Home for letting me flex my design arm. It was a fabulous experience from start to finish!
Check out more of Amy’s work at shopwithstyle.com I think she is fabulous!
Brylane Home chose to donate many of the items that were on the Daytime set to a local charity. They have a big heart as well as great decor!
