Before I turn it over to Diane, don’t miss the Thanksgiving simmer pot recipe + printable that I shared earlier this week. It’s a simple and festive hostess gift that you can share next week. Here at McCall Manor we will be celebrating Thanksgiving day at our friend’s house. We are blessed to have friends that feel more like family and we hope that you are surrounded with loved ones as well.

Since our party is always on Thursday, we will be taking a break next week.  Enjoy your family/friend time and we will see you the following week!

Hello everyone! It’s Diane from Diane and Dean with this week’s Your Inspired Design #62. It’s not quite snowing here in Florida but we were down in the 50’s this morning and we are LOVING it!

It’s one week from Thanksgiving yet there is a whole lot of Christmas filling the “blogosphere”. Are you feeling it? We aren’t yet decking the halls here but the ideas are certainly flowing. Don’t you love this time of the year?

Before we jump ahead to Santa Clause and sleigh ride season, can we just pause a moment and relish in the moment of Thanksgiving?

Thank you and your’e welcome!

THANKSGIVING MOMENT

Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude, something we should have every day of our lives for all things great and for all things small. Wouldn’t you agree that it is easy to get so busy this time of the year that we make less time to think about everything we are truly grateful for?

In the United States, the Thanksgiving holiday was traced back to 1621 when the Pilgrims celebrated good harvest. According to Wikipedia, President George Washington, proclaimed the very 1st nationwide Thanksgiving celebration in America, November 26, 1789 “as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God”.

“In every thing, give thanks”. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

By the way, if you have never started a grateful journal to write down what you are thankful for on a daily basis, this is the perfect time of the year to consider it. You will be glad you did and you will be amazed how it can change your life in a positive way.
