You all had such sweet things to say about The {Dreaded} Sofa Wall.  I am very thankful for your thoughts and comments, it means a great deal to me! (hugs all around)

I told you that I would share a few how-to ideas from this project.  And since I have 3 sick kiddos at home this week, I can actually get this  done!  ha   Since I have had a few questions from people about the family bunting so I thought I would start with that frame…sooooooo here goes…

Family Bunting

MM family bunting #6.1

Cut the jute webbing into the length you want for your flags–mine are 6″ long.  Cut the “V” shape out of the end.  Then bend the top end over and hot glue it to your cording.

At this point I made the letter stencils out of vinyl with my silhouette machine and stuck them on the flags.

MM family bunting #3

Grab some black craft paint and dab it on (be sure to go easy on the edges so the paint doesn’t spread out)

MM family bunting #4

After the paint dries, attach the bunting to your frame…I used hot glue and it is holding beautifully.

That’s it!  Super simple–remember we all had Flu A at the time that this was made.  ha

I hope you all have a wonderful day full of creative fun!

That’s so cool Holly! – I saw the pictures of your sofa wall earlier and thought ‘she should show how she made that family flag-thingy – and there ought to be a better name for it. – And now you have – and there is!

  2. What a great project! I love that entire wall!
