You know that feeling that you get when the temperature drops to below 90 and you want to sprinkle Pumpkin Spice onto everything in sight? Well we are having one of those days today. It’s is a blustery 88 degrees here in Florida. The long sleeves are coming out people.
I’ll be making chocolate chip pumpkin bread and burning my fall scented candles today so that the kids get to enjoy a sense of Autumn, but I am needing a kick in the pants to get the fall decorations out of storage and this minor dip in the temp isn’t hacking it.
Target Dollar Spot, however, is. I saw this cute little wooden sign there the other day and figured it would be cute SOMEWHERE in my house–you do that too don’t you? Of course you do.
They had us at the word ‘dollar’.
I grabbed a few colors of cardstock and figured that I would get some inspiration along the way. Do you know when it struck? Halfway through the project. Such is life with an indecisive brain. 😉
I had a paint pen and decided to make a fall blessings wreath with a little hand-lettering.
The garland inspiration bug (yes, it’s a thing) bit me when I decided where to hang my little sign. Do you remember ‘the dreaded sofa wall’? That big giant wall that I have behind my sofa, well the little sign was going to hang on there right next to my faux deer antlers.
And as you know, faux deer are in season right now and they typically adorn their antlers with festive garlands. 😉
I cut 4 leaves of each color and hot glued them onto some jute twine. All before I finished my coffee. It’s that easy.
Now this sofa wall is adorned to match the season that is taunting us currently. I think it adds a little cheer and whimsy to this room.
Is it Autumn where you live? Are you wearing boots and scarves and drinking PSLs every day? Can I come visit? I’ll bring you a garland for your faux deer. 😉
