It’s December y’all.  How did that happen?  Wasn’t it September like, 2 days ago?

I guess since the calendar says December, we will roll with it.

MM Advent Calendar 3

I absolutely love Christmastime.  I would leave the decorations up all year long if my family would let me.  The house just seems more inviting when it’s full of red berries and greenery.

Don’t even get me started on the scented candles and plug-ins.

It’s love I tell ya.

This year I decided to give a gift to my family. An advent calendar that is tailored to our family will be something that we can all enjoy. I am so excited to  have them pull a tag off each day and see what we get to do.

MM Dollar Spot Gift

On the back of each tag there is an activity for us to do as a family. An activity like going to look at Christmas lights, making cookies, having a picnic by the tree, and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit.

And of course, since we are classy, watching Christmas Vacation.

MM Advent Calendar

This advent calendar cost me $17 and that includes the frame which I got from an estate sale.  The tags, clothes pins, stamps, stars and glitter tape are all from the dollar spot at Target.  Each item was either $1 or $3.

But this gift isn’t about the money, it’s about…well

having more Christmas decor!  jk

Thank you Bonnie! That frame is hard foam and was goldish brown/black (weird description, I know). Love it so much more now…

Really cute, HM. I’m wondering at how much the umpire will cost per hour that I’ll have to employ to break up the fights between the kids on WHO gets to unpin the tag each day. “It’s my turn. . .” “No, you did the last one. . .” Guess y’all are WAY classier than us!

Love this, Holly! (I think we chose well when we named you!) the children will remember the special family activities long after their toys have been forgotten.
